Revitalize Takes to the Skies

pic of December issue Kia Ora MagazineFrom its very humble beginnings, Revitalize is starting to gain momentum.

With just two amazing performers the first year, the family-orientated festival now boasts three headline acts and more than a dozen quality performers supporting them.

Perhaps in recognition of this strong growth, Revitalize is very proud to see the festival has been featured in Air New Zealand’s Kia Ora magazine. It will be on every plane this December.

Starting at 4pm on Monday 2nd January, and finishing on the 4th at roughly 4pm, Revitalize brings 3 days of local music, interesting workshops, farm and children’s activities and healing therapies to the public. Bring your own tent or camper and stay on the organic farm for free when you purchase a 3-day ticket. Don’t own a tent? Then, choose a motel in one of the many surrounding districts, or nearby cabins in the mighty Fiordland bush.  Or purchase single day tickets if you can’t make all three days. There is a broad timetable at www.revitalize.nz

Revitalize is unique in that its small size means you can often get up close enough to have a conversation with the performers. They are all very supportive of up and coming musicians, and will encourage and give advice to any amateurs who perform in our Open Mic Night if asked.

Something new in January 2023 will be a jamming session on the 4th. Bring your guitars, bongo drums, tin whistle, voice or whichever acoustic instrument you wish – even a tambourine – so you can join in the fun. Or simply sit back with food and coffee from the onsite vendors and enjoy the music being created around you.

Revitalize is situated on Mangapiri Downs Organic Studfarm, under the majestic Takitimu Mountains, on the edge of the Fiordland National Park, along the Southern Scenic Highway, and in the tiny village of Blackmount. You’d be hard pressed to find a more remote festival in New Zealand. So why not take a summer holiday with a difference – a time to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and simply … revitalize yourself.
