About

This summer, Mountain Valley Organics® presents the
4th annual Revitalize music, wellbeing and sustainable living festival.

Join us from the 2nd to the 4th of January 2023 at Mangapiri Downs Organic Studfarm® for three days of music, healing and more!
This might just be the coolest little festival in NZ.

REVITALIZE
MUSIC FESTIVAL

It was a unique idea to combine an electric vehicle roadshow, a blues concert and anniversary celebrations for an organic sheep and beef farm all into one fun day out on the farm.

REVITALIZE

From Humble Beginnings...

In 2019, Mangapiri Downs Organic Stud Farm near Otautau hosted an all-day festival bringing together a concert from folk and blues artists Paul Ubana Jones and Southland’s own Lachie Hayes.

Inspired by the event and the good feedback received, we are now trying to make the festival an annual event.

We're Still Humble

Revitalize is a summer festival where your whole family can come and relax for three days of body fine-tuning, fine music and fine company.

What makes us different is that our festival is created in true Southlander's style. This is not a massive rock concert. Here at Revitalize you can actually walk up and speak to the performers - just wait until they are finished on stage of course.

We embrace our three aspects; music, wellbeing, sustainable living - all at a slower regenerative pace.  It's a welcome sojourn to the hectic pace of Christmas and New Years Eve.

What to Expect

Bring your tent or camper and stay on farm if you want to. We have food trucks, toilets, electricity, eftpos, undercover areas, water supply, bbq and tea making facilities. Alternatively, stay locally.

Some of our performers give workshops to support and enhance the skills of amateur performers. These change from year to year as availability of host and popularity indicate. In the past we have had guitar tuning, writing lyrics, and creating a guitar riff.

As well as workshops, we've also run grounding classes, group yoga and farm walks. Stand on bare feet on our land, sit under the unpolluted night sky, meet a friendly calf or watch the sheep sway to the music.

Our healers operate in a rustic setting - this is not a 5-star luxury spa. But with a bit of privacy you can book a one-on-one Reiki, osteo or massage session. Check out the Featuring page to see what is available each year.

Mangapiri Downs OrganicStud Farm®

Mangapiri Downs Organicstud Farm® is a pioneering organic stud sheep, cattle and forestry farm. We’ve been farming organically here in Blackmount, Western Southland, New Zealand since the mid-1980’s, and have been certified BioGro Organic since 1989.

As an organic farm, we embraced sabbatical fallowing, enabling our livestock to have stacks of natural grass every year. With a 7-year cycle, we are nearing the end of our 4th cycle, and have absolutely no plans to go back to conventional farming.

We stock unique livestock breeds, some of which were organically developed here on the farm. We have  our registered trademarked Tufty cattle and Shire Hair sheep. Plus we also have  Highland cattle and Wiltshire sheep.

We run our entire 469 hectare (1,158 acre) farm with electric vehicles. We can demonstrate why EVs are an obvious and practical choice for farmers all over NZ.

At Revitalize, we don't ram these non-traditional techniques down your throats. But we do run popular workshops and farm walks for those who are interested on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Tim Gow
Festival organiser

Tim is not your ordinary Kiwi farmer and breeding his own bred organic Stud Hair Shire sheep & Tufty polled Highlands are just two feathers in his wild crop of silvery hair. He’s a Pioneer Sabbatical fallowing regenerative farmer since 1988 and full Biogro organic from 1989.

In fact Tim is also an electric vehicle pioneer and promoter, and a kundalini & Reiki accelerated Light master.

He is also a supporter of NZ musical performers. Bringing his love for all these things together is the basis of the Revitalize organic farm healing music festival.

Tim works tirelessly each year to organise his band of family, volunteers and staff to pull together the 3-day event. He is often found throughout the year seeking out new musicians and convincing them to perform for the small and intimate crowd at Revitalize.

If you'd like to get involved with supplying food, healing or performing in Jan 2023 please get in touch with Tim.
