For the past 32 odd years, the Gows' farm has been run with 100% organic methods. As well as the sheep and beef studfarm, it is also the home of Mountain Valley Organics, a range of premium quality meats and other products.
But Tim is not your ordinary Kiwi farmer and growing organic meats is just one feather in his wild crop of silvery hair. Tim runs his entire station with electric vehicles. He is also a Reiki master and a supporter of NZ musical performers. Bringing his love for all these things together was the basis of Revitalize. A summer festival where your whole family can come and relax for three days of pampering, fine music and good company.
Tim organises his band of family, volunteers and staff to pull together the 3-day event, and is often found throughout the year seeking out new musicians and convincing them to perform for Revitalize’s small and intimate crowd.
"This might just be the coolest little festival in NZ."
From Humble Beginnings...
It was a unique idea to combine an electric vehicle roadshow, a blues concert and anniversary celebrations for an organic sheep and beef farm all into one fun day out on the farm.
In 2019, Mangapiri Downs Organic Stud Farm near Otautau hosted an all-day festival bringing together a concert from folk and blues artists Paul Ubana Jones and Southland’s own Lachie Hayes.
Inspired by the event and the good feedback received, we are now trying to make the festival an annual event. Please come along to support!
